Himalayan Expedition - 2015

The UEC Himalayan Expedition 2015 was completed successfully.The team consisted of 6 members representing University Explorers' Club of University of Peradeniya .The team started their journey from Shivalaya (1770m).They continued their journey passing Doorali pass (2710m), Bhandar (2190m), Kenja (1630m), Sete (2580m), Goyem (3220), Lamajura la pass (3600m), Jumbesi (2670m), Sallung (2960m), Ringmo(2720m), Traksindo(2930m), Nuntala (2330m), Karikhola (2040m), Bupsa (2860m), Chheubas (2945m), Surke (2290m), Lukla (2840m), Phakding (2610m), Namche bassar (3440m), Khumjung (3780m),Tengboche (3860m), Pangboche (3930m), Dingboche (4410m), Dughla (4620m), Lobuche (4910m), Gorak Shep (5140m) for 12 days to Everest Base Camp (5340m).They reached Everest Base Camp on 14th November at 2.40 p.m, Kalapathar Peak (5600m) on 15th November at 10.30 a.m.That was recorded as the highest elevation of the expedition.In the same day they returned to Pangboche (3930m).From Pangboche they started to trek up to "Ama Dablam Base Camp (4700m)".The himalayans reached "Ama Dablam Base Camp"" on 16th November at 12.30 p.m. Congratulations!! #UEC himalayans, you have made UEC and University of Peradeniya, proud.
